Zingiber sp.





Description: This species, although unidentified, displays the distinctive pulvinus and cone inflorescence of the Zingiber genus. Cones are long, narrow, and composed of closed green bracts. Peduncle is short, but the cones are still held aboveground. Flowers are yellow and tubular. Ligule is long and cleft, with a short petiole present that distinguishes it from other Zingiber in this monograph.

Ecology/Habitat: Also found in the open canopy understory of the logged plots at Deramakot.
